Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett declared that he would donate more than 80 percent to charitable foundations. In 2020, he boosted that amount to 99 percent. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which was established by Bill Gates and Melinda (the Microsoft founder) was the first recipient. The foundation focused on education and health in the world. Bill and Buffett had been friends since the 90s. Other charities that received donations included the ones run by Buffett's children as well as the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation named after his late wife. The foundation was focused on reproductive health of women and was able to provide college scholarships. The Giving Pledge was an invitation for other wealthy people to give a large portion of their money to charitable causes, created by Buffett and Gates in 2010.
